Work placement with language support

When you do a work placement with language support, you will practise Swedish, get work experience and obtain references.

The language support unit (Efsi) will help you to find a work placement, and will support you throughout your work placement.

You can get support from us in

  • Arabic
  • Dari
  • Somali
  • Tigrinya.

Do you speak another language? If so, we place slightly higher requirements on your knowledge of Swedish so that we can communicate well during the course and your work placement.

Who can do a work placement with language support?

In order to do a work placement with language support via the City of Stockholm, you need to be registered in the City of Stockholm.

Before your work placement, you will attend an introduction course

Before starting your work placement, you will attend an introduction. The introduction is half-time for five weeks. This deals with working life, society and communication in the workplace. The course is led by a teacher and a coach who speak your native language. The coach will also support you during your work placement.

Work placement – how it works

After the introduction, you will find out where you will do your work placement. We will try to find a work placement that fits with your previous experience and your future goals.

The work placement lasts for three months. The aim is for you to develop both linguistically and professionally. You will receive support and coaching throughout your work placement. If you have not found a work placement within two months, you will carry out in-depth matching to increase your chances of getting a work placement.

After completing your work placement, you will receive a certificate with references.
